Magkano ba talaga ang tax mo?

Your BIR tax guide. Type your income; he does the math.

₱
Try:

Option A: 8% flat

₱300,000 − ₱250,000 tax-free = ₱50,000

× 8% = ₱4,000

Option B: graduated rates + 40% standard deduction

₱0 income tax + ₱9,000 (3%)

= ₱9,000

8% saves you ₱5,000 this year.

For purely self-employed, non-VAT earners. Itemized deductions, mixed income and penalties are not included. A guide, not tax advice.

Hi, I'm James. I'm a third-year college student and a YouTuber, and this year I'm registering with the BIR for the first time.

Every guide I found was written for accountants, and the app I looked at cost more than the tax I'd owe. So I'm building Mang Taki: the guide I wish I had.

T:Is Mang Taki from the BIR?
S:No. It's an independent tool, not affiliated with the Bureau of Internal Revenue. You still file in the BIR's own systems; Mang Taki explains each step.
T:Will it file my taxes for me?
S:Not at first. It prepares the numbers and walks you through eBIRForms, then you press submit. You stay in control of your own return.
T:Is the calculator right?
S:It follows the current rules: 8% on gross income above ₱250,000, the TRAIN graduated rates, the 40% optional standard deduction and 3% percentage tax. Every rule is tested. It's a guide, not tax advice, so ask a CPA about unusual cases.
T:Magkano?
S:Not decided yet. The goal is a small fraction of what tax apps charge today. Your waitlist answers help decide it.
T:What happens to my data?
S:Only your email and any survey answers you choose to give are kept, to tell you when early access opens. Nothing is sold.
